Finished
stitched and stretched
lovely glass button
tiny little stitches
mother of pearl buttons
dupion silks and cottons
stretched over a frame
to create a mixed media artwork!
to be entered into an exhibition
in my local town hall
I just hope it's good enough to be accepted into this open exhibition
I've managed to finish it in good time for a change!
and what's more, my family love this piece too
and even I'm rather chuffed with it!
I would love to make a king size quilt in this method, but as my friend Helen pointed out, I'd probably be 114 by the time it was finished (in other words, dead!)

If the town hall dont accept this they will have me to answer to!!!!! Its absolutely stunning Sue, it really is.

FAB-U-LOUS. Just FAB-U-LOUS! Sue this must surely go in the exhibition, it is really lovely. I think the colours are brilliant - because it's the colour scheme that I would choose - but your stitching is ......well, you certainly need to view it section by section to take it all in.

Sue,
ReplyDeleteYour work is truly amazing and lovely. If your Town Hall doesn't accept it then they are absolutely clueless. Very beautiful. I love it. XOXO
Stunning Sue! If Loughborough Town Hall reject it...they'll have me stomping my feet to go and complain!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you have enough fabric and threads to make the King sized quilt though....LOL!
Her'es wishing you a great success!
Hugs,
Sandie xx

ReplyDeleteVictoria xx
Absolutely stunning! Well done!
ReplyDeleteOooh, thank you for all your lovely comments :) I love the way Helen and Sandie will go to the town hall to complain if it doesn't get in!!! and I agree Julie, I might make a start on a quilt, because I shall work on it in small sections at a time, so it isn't too daunting...... it can then be a placemat, lap quilt, single bed quilt etc, etc.......
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for the Sunshine Award. I love you work.
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely gorgeous! Well worthy of being exhibited.
ReplyDeletewoweeeee! blog hopping and wow - what a super surprise! this blanket is amazing! look forward to following! x

ReplyDeleteThat is stunning, I love the colours and stitches you have used x
ReplyDeleteThe fire-work explosion in these little panels are superb. The whole design really does fizz and pop out of the screen. Time well spent; you are right to feel chuffed. Good luck if you do decide to enter it into an exhibition.
ReplyDeleteHi, As a 'Crazy' quilter (in all the true senses of the word) I love Love LOVE your exhibition piece, tho the creeepy spider really freaked me out. Keep up the good work.
